CARING MINISTRIES

St. Luke’s tries to follow in Jesus’ footsteps by practicing care and compassion for those in our church family and in the wider community and the world. These caring ministries reach out to the sick, lonely and homebound in our congregation and extended family.

Prayer Chain

We believe in the power of prayer. Every Sunday, we name joys and concerns in the worship service. Members of the prayer chain commit to praying daily for those people and situations that are named. Additional requests during the week are shared via a phone tree or e-mail, so that our church can always respond with a community of prayer.

CD Ministry

Our weekly worship services are recorded, and copies of the CD are duplicated. Those CDs are then mailed out to members who are homebound, so that they can continue to worship wherever they are.

Visitation and Home Communion

The Women’s Fellowship and Board of Elders, along with the Pastor, make regular visits to members and extended family who are in nursing homes, hospitals or in-home care. The Pastor and Elders take Communion to homebound individuals several times a year, and to others as requested.
